Our first appointment, Leslie Peden (referred to in the release) proved to be an outstanding success. so much so that he was persuaded to move to Florida to take on their biggest market opportunity – United States.
We were asked to repeat the assignment and Justin Mills lead the search this time resulting in the appointment of Patrick Ryan

ROCKY MOUNTAINEER APPOINTS NEW DIRECTOR OF SALES – EMEA & INDIA
Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada (January 8, 2014) – Rocky Mountaineer, known globally for providing luxury rail experiences through Western Canada, is pleased to announce the appointment of Patrick Ryan as Director of Sales – EMEA & India. Leslie Peden, who was previously Rocky Mountaineer’s Director of Sales, EMEA, has relocated to establish an office in Orlando, Florida as the new Director of Sales, USA.
Based in Surrey, England, Ryan will be responsible for all aspects of sales in Europe, the Middle East, Africa and India including strategic management, contract negotiations, and business development plans for key tour operators, wholesalers, and travel agents. He will also oversee the operations of the EMEA sales division.

With more than 10 years experience in running multi-million pan European travel organizations, Ryan comes to Rocky Mountaineer with exceptional sales, marketing and business development skills underpinned by a sharp commercial acumen and an impressive reputation for delivering sales growth. Prior to joining Rocky Mountaineer, Ryan managed his own travel consulting business with clients in the cruise, ferry, sport and destination management sectors. He has also held the position of Managing Director of Island Cruises and Managing Director-Sales & Marketing EMEA for Royal Caribbean International, Celebrity Cruises, and Azamara Club Cruises.
