Dave Denny, Partner

Dave moved into executive recruitment in 1988 when he joined Ward Executive on its inception; ten years later he became its MD. In the last year he has been pleased to have established a partnership with Cornerstone London – and has already seen the benefits the new connection has delivered for clients.

 

After graduating with a degree in Modern Studies (a euphemism for History, Politics and Maths) he began his career in HR, and completed his CIPD. Over the next fourteen years he worked mainly in technology-based businesses, including blue chips such as Beecham and BOC. He knows he’s not an HR specialist in today’s terms, but he firmly believes those early years have given him perspectives on people and organisations; they also underpinned his training in psychometric assessment.

As a recruiter he has always been a generalist and he has handled a very broad range of projects in a wide variety of sectors. As much by chance as design he’s developed particular knowledge of the aerospace world and the heavy building materials arena, but he’s also carried out projects in service-based businesses and in not for profit organisations. Some of his clients are multinational companies, others are owner managed businesses. Most of his projects are at senior manager/general manager level, but he’s also recruited technical specialists, and made appointments in just about every professional discipline.
